TalkTalk Telecom Group plc (normally refered to as TalkTalk Group, trading as TalkTalk) is a firm which provides pay television, telecommunications, Internet access, and cellular network services to companies and consumers in the UK. It was unify as a standalone business in March 2010 and had been established as a subsidiary company of Carphone Warehouse in 2003.
Initially just a provider of fixed line telephony services TalkTalk now offers fixed and cellular telephony and broadband services to consumers beneath the TalkTalk brand, and broadband and telephony services to business customers below the TalkTalk Business brand.
TalkTalk is listed around the London Stock Exchange and is a part of the FTSE 250 Index.

The acquisition of Opal Telecom in November 2002 of the Carphone Warehouse gave it its own switching network providing access to the landline network of BT Wholesale. Broadband and fixed line telephony
TalkTalk supply broadband and landline telephone services for private households. The company supplies these services usually jointly in packages, but also individually.
Services were also supplied since Carphone Warehouse purchased the ISP underneath the AOL Broadband brand, that has been used under licence. AOL Broadband shut in 2014 to new business, although some AOL content is available to TalkTalk customers.

The company provides IPTV services including access to YouView, and is one of seven partners in the television venture YouView. It first inherited an IPTV service in the purchase of Tiscali, and renamed it TalkTalk TV in January 2010. In late 2010 TalkTalk established a mobile telephone service called TalkTalk Mobile, which runs as a mobile virtual network operator on the Vodafone UK network. TalkTalk have also established a mobile broadband dongle that allows users to get the World Wide Web on the move although you already need to be an existing TalkTalk customer to sign up to these services.
On November 17, 2014 TalkTalk Mobile announced its intention to change its MVNO from Vodafone.
The TalkTalk brand was found having quite a few high-profile TV advertisements in 2003, featuring the former public face of BT, Maureen Lipman. TalkTalk‘s first motto, “It Is great to speak, but it is better to TalkTalk“, mocked BT‘s own “It’s good to talk“ motto.
